Lowton East Neighbourhood Development Forum
Current issues
One current main area of concern is Wigan’s Core Stategy, or
“Local Development Framework”
(LDF).
This has identified 4 sites in and around Lowton for housing development.
We have
been campaigning against this since Oct 2010.
Another area of concern we are keeping our eye on
is the Boundary Commission’s review
for 2013.
As someone has said, a civil servant in Whitehall, who has no interest or care concerning
this area or its history, has simply re-
carving up the area
so that each borough
has approximately the same number of people -
One farcical outcome of this is that Leigh Town Hall will no longer be in Leigh!
